News
On Friday the 19th, it was decided by Sean to bring the race forward for a early release due to unfavourable weather conditions for the Sunday hotspot from Thurles.
The birds were hampered early in the morning and loaded onto the transporter and heading for the release point at 3am.
Again Sean would like to thank the trusted few for their time and effort, and in making the basketing of the birds go steadily and efficiently.
It was hoped that we would encounter a great race but somehow over half of the convoy experienced some sort of problem.
Weather wise the conditions were perfect with other organisations experiencing good racing and returns with speeds exceeding a mile a minute.
It looks as if the birds have ran into dear old percy again!
Unfortunately when the strings are cut we have know say in what happens when the pigeons take to the sky.
In closing the race program we were down roughly around 50 youngsters.
Fingers crossed more will return!!
Right,
the first batch of birds were numbering around the 25 and took less than 3hours to cover the 176 miles to the loft. They came racing to the loft to the right of the lane and quickly hit the traps.
The winning pigeon was another of the Luc Cuelman Ventures bought by the syndicate RyainAirOne and this making it back to back Hotspot wins for these speedster young bird Ventures from Belgium.
The NCC would like to congratulate you in your success and look forward in seeing you at the dinner and awards night in a few weeks time.
This year in particular the Belgium rung pigeons are flying magnificent here in the one loft, and I won't be surprised if the wee white grizzle hen takes the honours in the Ace pigeon category.
I must say a Big congratulations to Gary and Gerry Mc Lauglin on a very good 3rd and 4th in today's hotspot with a pair of nest mates that they bought in Belgium from Andre Neuwlarte.
Today I had the live stream up and running which was a great success but for the glare which was causing problems but we hope to have this technical issue resolved for the final Hotspot next week. We hope use all enjoyed the race and the quick posting of the top ten in the chat box.
Remember to book your places for the Grand Final Prize night in the Lodge Hotel as tickets are selling fast. Just give Sean a ring or email the NCC at Northcoastclassic@live.com
